Baylor Teal 10-6-09 Surgery

Please be praying for this family as the surgery was today.  Although I do not know them personally, I do check their Caring Bridge Site. 

The plans are for Dr. Smith to go in and remove the tumor on Tues. the 6th.  The surgery will start @ 7:30 am.  It will take 4 hrs, plus or minus 1 to 2 hrs.  He told us he would take his time and not rush the surgery.  The tumor is on the brain near the "wiriing" of his eyes.  The damage that COULD be done is some loss of vision.  He said that it is not likely, but he just wanted us to be prepared for if it did happen.  We will be in the PICU for 2 nights, then in a regular room for 3 nights.  It will take 2 working days to get the results from the tumor.  They are still not positive it is Neuroblastoma.  Dr. Smith said he believes he can remove the tumor completely, but would not take the chance of doing more damage.  If there are bits of chromes left, the oncologists may be able to treat the traces left w/ more chemo & radiation.  If it is a live cell (of course. we pray that it is not), we have to be prepared.   Please continue praying for our family.  We definitely need it now!

Pray for The Hewitt Family

On June 29th, Crystal, Parker, and Haley Hewitt were in a severe car accident.  Crystal is currently in the Medical College of Georgia Hospital.  She has sustained injuries to her back and is under the care of the trauma unit.  Parker and Haley didn't survive the car crash.  They are both with our Heavenly Father. Please continue praying for a full recovery.  

We are so thankful for the love and support shown by so many friends and family.
